Kingston Economic Development Corporation is pleased to be partnering with Queen’s University, the recipient of funding from the federal Women’s Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES) Ecosystem Fund. The Queen’s project, called WE-CAN, is led by Queen’s - Office of Partnerships and Innovation includes additional investments from Queen’s and several internal and external partners such as Launch Lab and City of Kingston.

As a partner in the WE-CAN project, Kingston Economic Development Corporation is pleased to be leading four women entrepreneurship programs to be launched in April:

Fast Track Exporting for Women

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Fast Track Exporting program for women entrepreneurs, offers support in marketing, investment preparation and due diligence specific to the needs of the business while leveraging industry experts.

International Newcomer Business Bootcamp

Newcomer Bootcamp program supports international newcomer women starting a business in Kingston to strengthen entrepreneurial skills and provide support to launch their new business.

Rural Area Mentorship Support Program

Mentorship Program for women entrepreneurs living and working in rural areas to support business startup, retention and growth.

Women Leadership ThinkTank

Women in Leadership ThinkTank to engage and encourage dialogue, professional growth and knowledge sharing through a formalized, supportive network of women in leadership positions.
