Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems (Syracuse CoE)

The Syracuse CoE is New York State’s Center of Excellence for Environmental and Energy Systems. Led by Syracuse University, Syracuse CoE engages faculty, students and collaborators at 200+ firms and institutions to catalyze innovations that improve energy efficiency, environmental quality and resilience in healthy buildings and cleaner, greener communities. Syracuse CoE is at the forefront of groundbreaking green and clean technology research, leveraging world-class R&D facilities from the iconic, high-performance, LEED–Platinum- designed “living laboratory” that is the Syracuse CoE headquarters to the state-of-the-art labs of our partners.

The SyracuseCoE Headquarters Building is a test bed for environmental and energy technologies and building innovations. The facility includes:

Central New York Biotech Accelerator (CNYBAC)

The Central New York Biotech Accelerator (CNYBAC) is a 50,000+ square foot facility that accommodates companies involved in the commercialization of biomedical technologies. CNYBAC space includes state-of-the-art wet labs. Clients are able to gain access to SUNY Upstate Medical University’s basic science and clinical researchers, and graduate student interns.  Staff provide assistance with and seek out client resource needs, funding and collaborative events, mentorship expertise and partnership opportunities.
